UTV Oil Quick Drain Valve Installation – Polaris®
Stripped oil pans become a thing of the past! We’ve all been there, properly installing the OEM drain plug and still worrying if our soft aluminum oil pan threads will decide to give up? Or will the plug strip? Install our Curtis Quick Drain UTV Valve once at your next service and never worry again!
How to check your specific application for clearance is a simple process. Using a standard tape measure, check the distance from the OEM oil plug to the edge of the factory skid plate. Curtis suggests a minimum of 1.5” clearance to help protect the valve from being damaged.

When turning our focus from aviation drain valves to the Can-Am Maverick, and more specifically the X3, we were determined to eliminate the negative aspects of changing your engine oil. The primary frustration by far is the mess. Not only oil on the skid plate, but spilling down the filter housing as well. In our search to eliminate the need for custom funnels and pumps that still require cleanup, we left no stone un-turned. Meeting with powersports service centers, aerospace engine overhaul specialists, searching through BRP and Rotax service manuals, and relying on our own historical data.
Curtis Oil Drain Valve Design
The Curtis CCA-1815C oil drain valve replaces your large 17mm oil drain plug. Its design incorporates an activation tool used to function the valve. This design has been reliably used throughout the aviation industry for decades. Simply connect the activation tool to the valve, direct the drain hose into your disposal container, then push and twist the tool to lock the valve in the open position. Installing the valve, connecting the tool, and functioning the valve can all be done through the factory skid plate access hole without modification.
